Creative Zen Nano Plus -How Comparable Is It To The iPod Shuffle?

Zen
Saving money is what it’s all about. But most customers will only buy what everyone else buys and look no further – the new “in” thing, or what they are most comfortable with and have been for 20 years or so! Some prospective customers will look nonchalantly through the flyers and ads, either in the newspapers or browsing through the Internet, checking to see what is the latest thing out for music listening. And almost everyone has heard of the iPod through some avenue or another. Most of us would like to hear something nice, something that is reliable, and looks good – don’t we?

Creative Labs new unbelievably tiny Zen Nano Plus is quickly arriving on the footsteps of its successful predecessors – the Zen Touch and the Zen Sleek. What Creative Labs is moving toward is a smaller, yet more compact top-of-the-line MP3 player, for individuals who do not require a lot of storage room for their music library. The Zen Nano Plus 512MB, or 1GB, is beginning to look as if it were taking on the iPod Shuffle. The Nano Plus comes with all the extra tools that make Creative Labs’ MP3 players stand out from the others. Above all else, the FM radio with recording capability puts it in the elite categories of digital music players. Most people like to have the freedom to be able to record their favorite radio programs, while having the incredible choice of listening to podcasts, songs, and audio books.

The Creative Zen Nano Plus is packaged with earbuds, an armband, a neck strap, mini-USB cord, line-in cord, non-rechargeable AAA battery, and organization software. It includes MP3/WMA/WMA playback, MP3 encoding up to 16-kbps from the line-in, on-the-fly playlist creation, five graphic equalizer settings, and automatic synchronization software. For recording, the built-in microphone picks up sounds from clear across the room, so it can be used almost anywhere: schools, lectures, work, etc. so obviously, the Zen Nano Plus is an absolute workhorse compared to some other brands that are out, such as the iPod Shuffle. According to the DigitalTrends review, the earbuds testing the Zen Nano Plus were much better than that of the iPod, due to better range and clarity. Tested headphones were the Koss KSC-75s, Sennheiser HD580s, and the Etymotic Er-6i.

As far as durability, the Creative Zen Nano Plus seems to be a bit more durable than the iPod Shuffle, with a weight of the iPod Shuffle at .78 ounces, and the Zen Nano Plus at .80 ounces. Also, the Nano Plus will allow a person to record from a CD without the use of a computer. All you have to do is supply the music – oh yes, and the money to buy it! How good can it get!!

Jewish Dharma (the Practice of Judaism and Zen)

Zen
reat spiritual hunger is surfacing as many seek comfort, support, and meaning in a world that has spun out of control. Yet, times of loneliness, confusion, fear, or separation come for a powerful reasonso we can stop our usual way of being and discover where true strength, connection, and understanding lie. These difficult times are actually a blessing, removing us from preoccupation with externals and inviting us to embark on a journey into the heart and meaning of our lives. Both Jewish and Zen practice call us to enter the journey, though in different ways.

In a sense, Judaism and Zen represent two opposite ends of a continuum: Zen is based upon radical freedom, letting go, being in the present and nonattachment. Judaism comes rooted in family relationships, love, prayer to a Higher Power and the injunction to hold on and remember. A Jewish heart is warm, giving, human, devoted to family and friends. A Zen eye is fresh, direct, spontaneous, unencumbered by ideas, beliefs, hopes or expectations. These two practices are like two wings of a bird; both are needed to be able to fly.

Each tradition addresses the primal questions that drive our lives and provides keys for finding answers. In Zen practice, you take time to remove yourself from family and friends, do zazen, journey within and awaken for the good of all. Jewish practice is done in the midst of the community. Relationships are central. It is said that God is to be found at the kitchen table, with family, friends and food. In Jewish prayer you go to God and ask for everything. In this way you always know the Source of your good and constantly offer thanks.

In Zen practice you do not pray for help at all. You do zazen, (zen meditation), sit, back straight, legs crossed, eyes down, facing the wall. You do not speak, reach out, touch, or listen to the troubles of others. You do not offer consolation or turn to others for support. In fact, what you thought of as support is taken away. If others are having trouble on the cushion, experiencing sorrow or pain, you do not interfere. Their experience is precious and they are now being given the opportunity to face it fully. The support you offer is silent and profound, just sitting strongly beside them, facing your own experience as well. lose sight of the true purpose of any practice.

The practice of zazen (zen meditation) creates an atmosphere of acceptance, respect, clarity, kindness. And, your religion of origin can ground you in the reality of who you are. In this way, practicing both Zen and Judaism provides balance and richness as each practice enriches, illuminates and challenges the other. The practices are like two wings of a bird, both are needed to be able to fly. ·

Everyday Zen

Zen
Zen can be a difficult concept to understand. Translated by many as meaning “meditation” or “a state of mind”, Zen can be perceived as a new understanding on how to live one’s life. Demanding persistence, patience and discipline, living a life of Zen everyday is not an easy process but can ultimately prove to be extremely meaningful and worthwhile.

Zen is not a religion. Zen does not tell you what to do. Zen is an approach that has been refined through many years that can be practiced everyday by anyone. The main aim of Zen is to develop self-awareness and an understanding of everything around you. Through the course of one’s life, people are conditioned into believing things without thinking about them too deeply. Zen encourages you to release lifelong conditioning and preconceptions and enables you to find a deeper understanding of yourself and reality. Zen frees your mind to live a life of heightened awareness which in turn enriches and improves your daily life experiences.

Achieving complete Zen is known as the process of enlightenment. As mentioned above, it is the process of discovering a new viewpoint on life and discovering ones inner truth. Discovering this complete inner truth comes from persistent practice and getting to know the true you. This can be achieved through daily meditation as well as through trying to live a life of deep respect and compassion for all things around you.

Zen meditation is one of the techniques that have assisted many in the Zen path. Setting time aside daily to meditate aids in allowing one to focus and receive clarity on the world and oneself. This clarity comes with practice and patience and there are numerous meditation techniques that can be used to assist you in this process. It has been mentioned countless times by many how the way one sees the world is often very similar to how one see’s oneself.

Consequently, Zen living is to live a life with respect for all living things and can be utilized in every aspect of one’s life. Zen deals with the present and things that have practical relevance in one’s life and ignores concepts of things that do not have an effect on ones daily experiences. Zen encourages one to live for the moment and to look at things in different ways in order to make them take on more meaning and in turn provide greater enjoyment.

Practiced for thousands of years and an approach that is available to everyone. Zen can either be practiced daily or its ideas can be incorporated into one’s lifestyle, to assist in encouraging a more fulfilled and pleasure filled life.

Zen Meditation: an Unique Form of Meditation

Zen
Zen meditation is a Japanese technique of focusing on a specific thing or thought. The tradition has been passing on from one generation to the other for almost many centuries now. Buddhists used to practice this unique type of meditation. In fact, Zen Buddhists are often referred to as ‘Meditation Buddhists’.

The amount of time devoted by Zen mediators varies widely. Experts recommend a minimum period of about five minutes on a daily basis. This is sufficient for householders to benefit from the immense benefits of Zen meditation.

The main thing one needs to focus on is daily practice. Daily practice of Zen meditation for a small period of time is more than enough to benefit from its effects than spending about half an hour once in a week.

Zen meditation has evolved as a boon to people across the globe who are really stressed out due to the irregularity, chaos and tensions existing in their daily life.

Zen meditation involves sitting in a prescribed position, closing your mind to the thoughts and images for a certain period of time. Here, your heart rate will gradually decrease and breathing becomes shallow. Slowly, you will get in to a state of deep reflective meditation.

With the help of Zen meditation, you can easily create a synergy that would further assist you in connecting to all aspects of your existence such as the body, the soul and the mind. The energy that’s required to strengthen the synergy that you have collected comes from practicing Zen meditation.

When practicing Zen meditation, your mind will only be involved. You will not be engrossing your thoughts in to what happened in the past or what will happen in the future.

You will reach a moment where you will only be reacting to what is happening to you at the present.

Zen meditation is a technique that helps you to awaken your true nature. Here, you don’t need to subscribe any of the religious teaching. You just need to realize that there is a ‘Buddha’ inside you. Awaken the Buddha inside you and you will be able get a deep insight of yourself.

Zen meditation was actually meant to awaken the real person inside you.

Why Zen Yoga Poses Can Improve Your Health

Zen
Zen yoga poses are part of an Oriental system that combines the practice of asanas with Traditional Chinese and Japanese Medicine. Postures are categorized according to the primary meridian they affect. A meridian can be understood as similar to a blood vessel, in that it has an energetic structure that corresponds with the human body, but which is instead a channel for energy to circulate (instead of blood).

The alignment of these exercises with specific meridians is what makes zen yoga such a powerful healing modality. In fact, teachers of this Oriental system emphasize its’ capacity to help treat the basic causes of illness.. This article will explore what is meant by that, and provide some illustration on how zen yoga poses can be adapted to an individual’s problems.

Meridian exercises work by facilitating the natural flow of energy in areas where we experience blockages and stagnation. We may feel those areas of blockages as stiffness, aching, tension, pain, or simply a feeling of being uncomfortable. Zen poses open up their primary meridians, and as a result, they dispel ‘ill’ energy, and allow healthy energy to flow instead.

A little background on meridians may be helpful. There are 12 meridians, and they are named after different organs of the body. So, we have the Lung meridian, large intestine meridian, Heart constrictor, triple heater, liver, gall bladder, spleen, stomach, heart, small intestine, kidney, and bladder.

It’s important to note that although these meridians each have an energetic relationship with the organ after which they are named, they are not just referring to the organ when we speak about them. Their primary meaning is an energetic reference, to a type of energy that runs along a specific channel, which just happens to be associated with a physical organ as well. So, when Oriental practitioners and yoga teachers talk about a particular meridian being out of whack in some way, this definitely does not mean that our organs are! I emphasize this because a lot of people tend to get alarmed by some of the terminology, and it just stems from a misunderstanding of the context in which it is being used.

By understanding how important the energetic aspect is in Oriental philosophy, it is easier to understand how they look at the symptoms of disease, illness, or any problems we feel in our bodies. Instead of focusing on the symptom itself, Oriental diagnosis looks at what is going on in the meridians, and a healing approach is based on this, instead of a rigidly defined solution for a set of symptoms. What this means in practical terms, is that one person’s ideal solution to a bad back, or a stiff neck, may be very different to another’s.

The good news is that you don’t have to know a lot of theory to do zen yoga successful. And neither do you need to understand the intricacies of Oriental diagnosis to apply zen yoga exercises for your own specific problems. Masunaga offers this useful guide: “first find the exercise which is hardest to do… and then look for another one which is the easiest… If doing the easiest exercise causes an improvement in the performance of the most difficult one, or relieves a … symptom, it is effectively reinforcing the Ki [energy] in the Kyo [deficient] meridian”.

Masunaga was a leading shiatsu teacher in Japan who organized meridian exercises into a system that people could use themselves. He actually wrote that the best way to learn about zen yoga poses, was to practice them! Zen yoga seems more difficult in theory than it is in practice. It’s actually a very fun, playful and gentle style of yoga that can readily be adapted to any level of fitness and health. Like tai chi, it has great health benefits, which can be explored in more detail through classes or publications.

All New Zen

Zen
Marut Udyog, a legendry in the auto industry always has some thing new for Indians. And especially with their partnership with the Suzuki has given them more opportunity to explore and prove themselves not only domestically but also globally. They concentrate more on the small car segment as it is the best suited for the Indian families, though they have proved in other segments too.

The most ‘cutie’ looking model was the ‘Zen’ which is replaced by the new Zen Estilo. It was one of the amazingly comfortable to drive car in the city traffic. A complete and perfect car for a small family. It is really sad that the company stopped the production of the Zen with bringing out the new Estilo. The latest invention of Maruti is definitely a hot looking car with style and performance. It looks like an upgraded version of WagonR from almost all the sides and big head lamps. The taillamp are big that suits the design. It comes with comfort and ease like a perfectly fitting costume. Zen Estilo pleases everybody with its comfortable and useful features that will attract and interests the masses. The older Zen was cutie and this baby also looks good with a rugged touch, that is portrayed by the wheel arches indicating that it not labeled as a ‘male’ or ‘female’ car.

The model is empowered with 1061cc engine, where as the old Zen 700cc engine with the average fuel economy. The engine is close to that of a WagonR and in terms with accessories it a pretty fine and also includes an ‘Aero Kit’. As all the good things are accompanied by some bad things too, it also has some cons like as you accelerate to the higher speed, the engine protest making slight noise, when compared with the old Zen, the power of the engine lags behind in its performance in Estilo. And there is nothing unique about the cars that will distinguish Estilo with other models of Maruti.

Concrete Fountains May Be Added To Zen Gardens

Zen
A Zen garden is basically a sand garden with rocks, gravel and occasionally other natural elements such as grasses. They usually do not feature concrete water fountains or anything that is manmade. Although that is not to say concrete fountains can’t be added for additional impact. A Zen garden is a place to sit and unwind or to meditate.

The most famous Zen garden is the Ryōan-ji Temple located in Kyoto, Japan. The monks of the temple maintain this ancient Zen garden. Concrete water fountains are not found here. The simple design is done in monochromatic shades of brown. The most interesting feature of this Zen garden are the 15 rocks arranged on the surface of white pebbles in such a manner that visitors can see only 14 of them at once, from whichever angle the garden is viewed. According to legend, only when someone attains spiritual enlightenment as a result of deep Zen meditation can he see the last invisible stone with his mind’s eye. To find unique and distinctive concrete water fountains visit http://www.garden-fountains.com.

The Simplicity of a Zen Garden

The main elements of a Zen garden are always rocks and sand, with the sea symbolized not by water but by sand raked in patterns that suggest rippling water. Plants are much less important (and sometimes nonexistent) in many Zen gardens. Zen gardens are often, but not always, meant to be viewed from a single, seated perspective, and the rocks are often associated with and named after various Chinese mountains. Some Zen gardens employ a concrete-water-way or a small concrete water fountain for additional tranquility.

With this type of design, less is more, and it’s essential to keep it simple - even the concrete water fountains should have simple lines. Creating calming, restful, and soulful Zen gardens is a way of introducing nature into our lives and can help balance our hectic urban existence. For more ideas on beautiful concrete water fountains check out http://www.garden-fountains.com/Detail.bok?category=Garden+Fountains&no=1734&searchpath=6544.

Zen Garden Principles and Practices

A symbolic river (and boulders) made from sand suggests rivers and mountains as a place to create a quiet place for contemplation. A concrete water vessel spilling out water may be used to create this illusion.

Zen gardens contain quiet minimalist features with curving flowing lines and shapes with few visual distractions. They allow one to slow the pace, to discard the day’s chaos and to calm down. The space becomes a sanctuary. There can be a focal point, a sculpture or concrete water fountain that engages the mind and eyes, which in turn releases the day’s tension. This is a Zen meditation technique in action.

The feng shui principles also advocate gently flowing paths around and through the garden, with no dead ends or right angles. Simplicity and harmony are the basic design elements especially in the concrete water fountains. To learn more about fung shui garden design with the incorporations of fountains visit http://www.garden-fountains.com/garden-fountains-feng-shui-1.php.

Taking a Zen Garden One Step Further

By observing nature you can replicate it even with concrete water fountains. The addition of a water feature heightens its restful quality. The flow and murmur of water are known to calm and inspire and have been used that way for thousands of years. Properly designed water features, with plants, frogs, fish, and continually moving water won’t be a mosquito-breeding ground. A garden’s pond-less waterfall with moving water provides all the benefits of water without large tracts of land, making it ideal for city dwellers. And it is important (that the garden) is harmonious with the neighbors as well as yourself.

Regardless of the type of Zen garden chosen, all the elements that go into making it - color, plants, hard structures, the concrete water garden and ornaments - need to blend comfortably to form a peaceful garden that delights the physical senses with the sound, smell, and sight.
